As part of the 2024 work program, on the morning of September 6, 2024, in Can Tho City, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with provinces and cities, organized the Conference on Trade Promotion and Import-Export Development in the Mekong Delta region in a hybrid format combining in-person & online participation.
This conference is part of a series of 6 Conferences on Trade Promotion and Import-Export Development across economic regions nationwide, aimed at exchanging and discussing regional linkage solutions in trade promotion and import-export development to be implemented in 2024.
The conference is expected to have around 200 attendees, including leaders from the People’s Committees of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, leaders of relevant units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, representatives from industry associations, business support organizations, manufacturing companies, import-export businesses, trade companies, and logistics service providers.
The Conference on Trade Promotion and Import-Export Development in the Mekong Delta region is expected to serve as a valuable channel for sharing and exchanging information, as well as discussing the implementation of support solutions and fostering more effective linkages within and beyond the Mekong Delta region in trade promotion and import-export development. The goal is to support the region’s businesses in their growth, helping the region’s products and services reach further into domestic and international markets. This contributes to promoting regional development in line with the orientations outlined in the Mekong Delta Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, as set by the Prime Minister
On the sidelines of the Conference, there will be an exhibition space showcasing and promoting products from local areas and businesses in the region. This creates opportunities for networking and trade connections between goods and service providers from the Mekong Delta region and import-export businesses as well as trade promotion organizations. The Conference organizers will facilitate the participation of businesses from the Mekong Delta region that have high-quality products with export potential and capabilities in this activity.
